Learning to teach chemical bonding: a framework for preservice teacher educators

Chemical bonding is an important topic which difficult to teach well, especially for novices. This study set out support preservice teacher educators by developing a framework understanding and addressing the complexity of teaching chemical bonding. A model pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) in science education that has been widely endorsed experts field was adopted as theoretical lens. First, systematic literature review performed articulate what recent empirical studies can tell us about teachers require The corpus consisted 59 articles published over past 20 years relating four components PCK: how embedded curricula, student related this topic, instructional strategies representations bonding, assessment understanding. yielded current collective PCK chemistry education.
