چکیده
Chemical bonding is an important topic which difficult to teach well, especially for novices. This study set out support preservice teacher educators by developing a framework understanding and addressing the complexity of teaching chemical bonding. A model pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) in science education that has been widely endorsed experts field was adopted as theoretical lens. First, systematic literature review performed articulate what recent empirical studies can tell us about teachers require The corpus consisted 59 articles published over past 20 years relating four components PCK: how embedded curricula, student related this topic, instructional strategies representations bonding, assessment understanding. yielded current collective PCK chemistry education. Next, nine were asked portray their own personal through representations. Analysis revealed differences between several aspects derived from articulated our sample Dutch educators. How Teacher Educators’ Beliefs and Technology Uses Relate to Preservice Teachers’ Beliefs and Attitudes toward Technology
Beliefs about teaching and learning play an important role in transforming classrooms through the use of technology (Ertmer, 1999, 2005). Additionally, attitudes toward technology can influence teachers’ technology uses (Myers & Halpin, 2002; Yildirim, 2000). In order to prepare preservice teachers to use technology effectively, it is necessary to examine their beliefs about learning and teachi...
متن کاملChallenges of and resources for reform-based science teacher learning: a case study of a preservice science teacher
This case study examines the challenges faced and resources employed by a preservice science teacher throughout his teacher preparation program. Challenges included an absence of supported space in field experiences, intense emotions associated with learning, and establishing “effective” relationships with students. Supports included affordances offered by program sequence, program coherence, a...
متن کاملLesson Study as a Means for Facilitating Preservice Teacher Reflectivity
This study sought to determine if, how, and the extent to which, the implementation of lesson study with preservice teachers facilitates reflection in its participants. The lesson study reports of 20 preservice teachers were analyzed qualitatively along three dimensions to determine what lesson study reports revealed about their reflections. More specifically, the analysis sought to determine w...
متن کاملPreparing Preservice Elementary Teachers to Teach Science Through Computer Models
The purpose of this study was to examine the extent to which preservice elementary teachers were able to construct viable scientific models with a computer-modeling tool, namely Model-It, and design a science lesson with models. The results of the study showed that (a) Model-It, through its scaffolds (i.e., Plan, Build, and Test modes), enabled the majority of preservice teachers to build model...
